Etymologists believe that insects in temperate climes are more aggressive due to the short season that affects their life cycle. Minnesota mosquitoes appear to be larger than their Southern cousins and, in season, adopt the personalities of urban city dwellers commuting to earn a paycheck.
I empathize with mosquitoes. Northern summers are far too brief. I find myself vying for position on the deck evenings defying the buzzing marauders with my kindle and glass of wine du jour. Summer is nigh over on the 15th of July and wine festivals are abundant! I encourage you to find one in your area, grab a friend or five and go lift a glass to all the horological Cancers born on this day!
Be sure to wear insect repellent 🙂
